The ideal candidate for the Creative Video Editor role will excel in creating both short-form and long-form video content. This person is a creative and detail-oriented professional, capable of transforming raw footage into polished, engaging videos. The candidate must be proficient in fast-paced, concise edits for short-form content while also having the skills to produce compelling, longer videos for platforms like YouTube or websites. The perfect fit will be someone who can handle multiple video projects efficiently, meeting deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards. Compensation is based on a project/task basis, offering flexibility and rewarding efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Edit according to our standards short-form (30 seconds to 9+ minutes) and long-form (20 minutes to 2+ hours) video content for various platforms, including social media, websites, YouTube, etc.
- Create engaging narratives with a strong sense of storytelling, pacing, and brand alignment.
- Apply creative editing techniques, including transitions, color grading, sound design, and music selection, following instructions provided and adding creativity and innovations still without sacrificing quality and company standard guidelines.
- Collaborate with creative, marketing, and content teams to align video output with overall goals. Ask questions for clarity in Team Comms, chat, etc. and reporting to Supervisor.
- Adapt editing styles for different platforms to maximize engagement and viewer retention.
- Handle feedback and revisions efficiently, delivering final products within deadlines.
- Stay updated on video editing trends and software advancements to keep content innovative and fresh.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in video editing for both short-form and long-form content.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
- Strong storytelling and creative skills to produce high-quality videos.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of platform-specific editing requirements and best practices.
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work independently on a project/task basis.
- Familiarity with motion graphics and animations is a plus
